LIMAR FABRIC 


  
   ›It is a silk woven fabric in which motifs were design using tie and dye (ikat celup). ›Limar fabric is produced from pieces of pieces yarn with three or four colors, and when the threads are woven, the effect resulting pattern in a form of spread of lemon juice.›Due to this, the name limar is given to this fabric.›The process of making limar is time consuming and requires patience. ›Limar originated from Campa or Kampuchea. ›It is usually worn by the noble woman – used as kain kemban, sarong and kelumbungAs for man- it is used as samping, ikat kepala. ›Motifs – man- lines (horizontal and vertical) 



CINDAI FABRIC


       The process is similar to the limar›The difference of  limar and cindai is the technique of ikat ganda and its motif. Motifs were influenced from Indian fabric patola. The motifs were taken from patola, but had been modified to suit Malay interest. ›Only worn by the royals, noble and high class people. ›It is believe to have spirit and magic that can heal people.


WOVEN FABRIC (Tenun Pahang)


  ›Produce with the technique of ‘tabby’ à the thread weave horizontally and vertically after each other. ›The thread used is from cotton and silk. The early technique of weaving. ›It is usually with no motives. It is popular in Bugis, Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang. 



SONGKET FABRIC 


 ›It is a textile with motifs weaved with gold thread.›In old days, songket   were   only worn by the royals and wedding, but now, it is worn by anyone due to functions, wedding, fashion designing.›It has become crafts such as wall decorations, handbags, shoes. ›It is not washed but smoked with odor substances. ›Motifs has intrinsic meanings and repetitions. Some of the motifs are pucuk rebung, pecah lapan, bunga cengkih, telur berantai.



 TELEPUK FABRIC

›  Textile with motifs of arranged with gold paper on the fabric using arabic glue. ›The motifs are similar to the songket.It is ›worn by the man as sampin and women as kelumbung (headcovering) or sarong (skirt). ›This fabric is nice to see, however, the gold dust is not long lasting and cannot be washed. 



BATIK

› Batik is another fabric worn until today. There are two types of batik,    batik canting and  batik cop. The differences between them are the technique of producing the motifs. Batik sarong uses wax and canting, where as batik cop uses technique of stamping on the fabric.
